Wisdom teeth are the third set of molars at the very back of your mouth. Most people get them between ages 17 and 25, which is why they’re sometimes called the “teeth of wisdom.”
Humans can have up to for of them—two on top and two on the bottom. Some people get all four, some get fewer, and some never develop them at all.
Because many jaws don’t have enough space for these extra molars, they can sometimes:
* Come in normally with no issues
* Grow at an angle or get stuck (impacted)
* Cause discomfort, swelling, or infections if partially erupted

Why do we even have them? Do they always need to be removed? And what happens if they’re impacted? In this episode, we dive deep into the world of wisdom teeth — from why they appear, to the common problems they cause, to what you can do at home for relief.
You’ll learn:
* Why they develop and when they usually appear
* The difference between normal and impacted wisdom teeth
* Signs and symptoms that may need a dentist’s attention
* Pain relief options: saltwater rinses, mouthwashes, and medication
* When removal is recommended and what recovery looks like
* What X-rays reveal and why they don't always need extraction
* Whether you’re dealing with discomfort, preparing for surgery, or just curious, this episode clears up the myths and facts so you feel informed and confident about your oral health.
